Week 1: God Knows the Real You

Week 1: God Knows the Real You

Key Scripture:

“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.” Psalm 139:1-4

You’ll never know how much God has pursued you until you realize how much God has purposed you.

God knows the real me and yet He still pursues me.

In the early 1900s there was an old Methodist preacher named A. C. Gaebelein, who said, "The conversion of Paul, the great persecutor and his call by the risen and glorified Lord to be an Apostle to the Gentiles is the greatest event recorded in Acts, next to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost."

God knows the real you despite your masks.

“Surely, His goodness and steadfast love, will pursue me relentlessly all the days of my life.” Psalm 23:6

When Paul died his list of accomplishments was long.

  • He started nearly 20 churches
  • Made 3 long missionary trips
  • Was a key figure in many young Christians lives
  • Wrote 13 books of the Bible
  • Founder of Christian Theology
  • Teaches us about Faith and Grace

God saw a young man that watched a Christian stoned to death in the middle of a city and he saw a purpose to pursue. God saw a man who after years of learning and studying, devoted his time instead to murdering and arresting Christians and he saw a promise to pursue. And God saw a man who would not give up for anything and he saw a provision to pursue. God saw the real Paul before Paul ever saw it himself.

God knows the real you and He knows the future you
